  • Kids’ Flower & Animal Bookmarks

    Join us on September 15 at Tyler Free Library at 1pm to make your own personal bookmarks! Make your favorite animal or favorite flower, and then pick out books to use them on.

    Please register so we can provide materials. You can sign up by calling either library, using our online form, emailing ofriederich@fosterlibraries.org, or by dropping by in person. This event will take place right after our regularly scheduled storytime at Tyler Free Library.

  • Women’s Intro to Firearms

    Foster Libraries is joined by RIDEM to present an introduction to firearms for new shooters. This event takes place on Tuesday, September 12 at 5pm at Foster Public Library. Please register by signing up in person, calling either library, or using our online form.

  • Peacelove Poetry Mandala Workshop

    Clear your mind and calm your soul with the art of mandalas! Lauren from Parent Support Network of RI will be helping us create beautiful mandalas and poetry.

  • Women’s Map & Compass Basics

    Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management (RIDEM) presents a program for first-time hikers! Join us to learn the foundations of finding your way in the wilderness.

    The event will take place at Foster Public Library on Tuesday, September 19 at 5pm. Please register by signing up in person, calling either library, or using our online form.

  • Stuffed Animal Sleepover

    What do stuffed animals do when you’re not looking? Find out at our stuffed animal sleepover! Drop off your plushie on Tuesday, September 26 anytime during the day. We’ll take photos of what your animals get up to at night, and then you can pick up your stuffed animal the next day.

  • Celestial Treasures Stargazing Night

    *Please note: We have had to postpone this even until later this year. Watch our social media, newsletter, and website for a new date. Thank you for your patience.*

    Join us for a night filled with stars and space exploration! Robert Horton, Manager of Astrological Labs and Ladd Observatory at Brown University, will be giving a short stargazing presentation before we use telescopes and binoculars to search the skies! We will identify constellations, observe Saturn, nebulae and star clusters. This will be an evening program at Tyler Free Library on Friday, September 8 at 8pm as we need fully dark skies. All ages are welcome. Participants are encouraged to bring a red headlamp and binoculars if you have them. Telescopes will be provided. Rain dates are 9/15 and 9/22 at the same place and time.

  • Sea Glass Jewelry Workshop

    Look beach-ready with some amazing sea glass jewelry! At 6pm on August 22 at Foster Public Library, we’ll be using wire to wrap sea glass and turn it into wearable necklaces.

  • Animal Experiences (Summer Reading Finale)

    Learn about animals with Dave Marchetti! On August 17 at 6pm, we’ll meet some reptiles and find out all about their lives.

    This is also our summer reading finale, and your last chance to earn raffle tickets before we draw!

  • Family Charades Night

    An evening of classic game-night fun! Join us for Family Charades, an event for all ages, on Wednesday, August 16 at 6pm at Foster Public Library. No registration necessary.

  • Make Your Own Worry Dolls

    Join us at 6:30 on August 8 at Foster Public Library to make your own worry doll! We’ll be using household items to make cute dolls that soothe your anxieties while you sleep.
