  • Summer Reading 2026

    Each week, our library will feature a new craft for Summer Reading!

    Get your Bingo card the first week of July, then drop in every week to update us on your progress!

    Crafts will take place each Wednesday and Thursday at 1pm, and each Friday at 2pm.

  • Community Craft Nights

    First and third Tuesday of each month at 6pm, starting in June!

    Bring your craft and join a community of fellow artists for encouragement. No project? No problem! Start your project using library supplies or simply bounce ideas around the group! Recommended for ages 16+; young adults encouraged.

  • Family Game Night

    Join us for a family-friendly game night. Choose from a variety of tabletop games in our collection. Enjoy an old classic, or learn something new! Both board games and card games are available. Drop in Tuesday, June 23, between 4pm and 8pm.

    Find a game you like? Many of our games can be checked out on your OSLRI card as part of our Library of Things!

  • Foster Library Senior Programs: June 2026

    Seniors, join us every Thursday for a program each week! We will be offering exercise classes for strength and balance, health and education classes, game days, and opportunities to socialize with your neighbors. Registration for fitness classes is required.

    If you need transportation to the library, call Foster Public Library at 397-4801 in advance.

  • Playing it Safe with Dogs

    Jane Deming of Animal Rescue RI will present an interactive educational dog safety program. Children of all ages are invited to join us on June 17 at 1pm at Foster Public Library!

  • Senior Programs – May

    Seniors are invited to join us on Thursday mornings at 11am! Programs alternate each week.

    May 7: Exercise class

    May 28: Bingo and Board Games

  • Endangered Animals

    Jane Deming from Animal Rescue RI will present an informative and engaging program all about endangered species!

    Recommended for children ages 4-12. Join us on Wednesday, May 13 at 1pm.

  • Wonderful Whales with ARRI

    Join Jane Deming of Animal Rescue RI to learn all about whales! Homeschooled students of all ages will enjoy this interactive, engaging presentation. Call the library or sign up online to let us know you’re coming!

  • Tyler Free Library Celebration

    Save the date(s)! Let’s join together to wish a grateful goodbye to our beloved Tyler Free Library! We will be celebrating at the library Friday to Sunday, April 24-26.

    • Friday, April 24, 4-8pm
    • Saturday, April 25, 11am-4pm
    • Sunday, April 26, 11am-4pm

    At the event, you will be able to:

    • Take souvenir photos
    • Tell your stories and memories in our recording booth
    • Enjoy cookies with the staff

  • Share your Tyler Free Memories

    Do you have stories or photos of Tyler Free Library to share?

    We are putting together a memory book that will showcase the history and legacy of Tyler Free. We would like to collect memories and pictures from anyone who grew up with this library, or even went to school here.

    A preview of the book will be available at the Tyler Free Library celebration in April. Follow our newsletter and social media to be notified when the books are on sale.

    Need photos or journals scanned? Come in to Foster Public Library and our staff will help you!
